In February 2005, Jubilee Jobs launched a major emphasis on a new Move-Up Program.
To qualify to apply to the Move-Up Program, an applicant will:
Once accepted into the Move-Up Program, the first step for a working applicant may be a higher paying job that includes benefits and increases salary to the $9.00–15.00 per hour range. At the same time, the applicant begins to prepare for career opportunities that require additional education and skills.
The next steps will involve an ongoing process of growth and development toward a better paying job and satisfying career. Additional training and skill development through apprenticeship programs, specialized certificate programs, and on-the-job training programs will further enhance the career possibilities of our working applicants.
As part of the Move-Up Program, we expect applicants to develop a relationship with a Move Up Mentor, to continue to participate in the monthly Job Friends events, to attend one other informational and supportive monthly meeting with other Move-Up participants and counselors, and to identify a way of giving back by developing their own leadership and service dimensions.
