Job Counselor Interns

In 2004 Jubilee Jobs launched a Two Year Internship component of the job placement program. Especially focused on recent college graduates or persons in a career transition, interns will work as a job placement counselor within the overall Jubilee Jobs program. Interns will get to know the struggles and challenges of the very poor, have a close look at the job market and the economy, and learn the works of an established non-profit. Personal and group reflection, keeping a journal, and getting to know other missions in the community are crucial aspects of the program.

Ordinarily, there will not be positions within the Jubilee Jobs program for interns to move into at the end of two years, but each person will have experience in community service with accountability and results, as well as a deepened understanding of the lives of the very poor. Hopefully, interns will want to continue in a vocation of service and leadership in the community. As a result of the internship, they will be able to move into other forms of mission well prepared. This position includes full salary with benefits.
